Education and Research Foundation

The Education & Research Foundation, Inc. was originally founded in 1973 by Drs. Charles and Claire Whitmore, dermatologists who also had a private practice in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The privately held corporation became a major independent research company for the pharmaceutical and consumer products industries, performing hundreds of Phase I – IV studies under the direction of Ms. Bert Mathews who served as the corporation’s Executive Director for over 30 years.

In October, 2005, Julie Doyle and Kappa Meadows, MD assumed the ownership of The Education & Research Foundation, Inc. Ms. Doyle serves as President and Executive Director, managing the business and financial operations of the company. Dr. Meadows serves as Medical Director and Principal Investigator, with oversight responsibilities for all clinical operations.
