Julie P. Doyle

Julie joined The Education & Research Foundation in 2005, directing the business and financial operations of the company. Julie has over 15 years of business development and management experience, having begun her career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Honeywell, Inc.

Julie holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA degree from George Washington University.

Julie serves on the board of a number of Central Virginia organizations, including Centra Health, Lynchburg College, Bank of the James and Step with Links.

 
     
 

Kappa P. Meadows, MD

Dr. Meadows serves as Medical Director and Investigator of The Education & Research Foundation, Inc., with oversight responsibilities for all clinical operations. She is board certified in Dermatology and Internal Medicine and is in private practice with Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Consultants, Inc.

Dr. Meadows received her Bachelor's degree in Premedicine from Davidson College and her Medical Degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Meadows completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Utah in 2000. She currently holds memberships in Women’s Dermatological Society, Medical Society of Virginia, American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association. Dr. Meadows volunteers at the Free Clinic of Central Virginia.

 
     
 

Carla V. Torrence

Carla is responsible for providing expertise and supervision for daily operations, study management, and employee relations. Her professional experience includes over 17 years in healthcare. Carla’s area of expertise includes enhancing the professional interaction and communication with Investigators, site personnel, and sponsor clients throughout all stages of the study. Carla also provides leadership for assuring appropriate staffing, personnel development, and compliance with SOPs.

Sue began her career at The Education & Research Foundation, Inc., in 1998 and prior to serving in her current position as Senior Clinical Research Coordinator, she held positions within the organization as a clinical research aide, expert dermal irritancy grader and regulatory coordinator. Sue is responsible for coordinating initial protocol review and approval process; generation of regulatory documents; collection and documentation of clinical research data following Good Clinical Practice. Sue is certified as a Clinical Research Coordinator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and she is an American Society of Clinical Pathologists certified Phlebotomy Technician.

 
 
 
 
 

Sandra K. Plummer

Sandy joined The Education & Research Foundation, Inc. as a clinical research aide and recruitment coordinator in 1993. She currently serves as clinical research coordinator. Sandy is responsible for development and implementation of rapid recruitment methods as well as the coordination of pre-study planning through the successful completion of all patient visits.
